This is the battery clamp from an Opel Manta A series, it is a genuine salvaged Opel part. It would be suitable for the following applications:
  • Opel Manta A series - '70-'75
  • Opel Ascona A series - '70-'75
Due to design oversight and the action of lead acid battery chemistry makes the battery tray area highly prone to corrosion. This clamp is often lost from cars during battery replacement; without it there is the real risk that riding over a bump could cause the battery terminals to touch the bonnet and create sparks, a short circuit, voltage surges or even a fire.

For sale - Opel Manta A series battery clamp - £17.50

This clamping piece has been sand blasted and powder coated in a highly durable silk black finish. These measures should ensure that this component will provide many more decades of service and be a handsome addition to a show car engine bay.

For sale - Opel Manta A series battery clamp, easily lost during maintenance

It is priced at £17.50, the price includes delivery within the UK. I can send to some European locations too, but please ask for a quote first as this could be quite a high sum.

Obsolete GM spares are not exactly plentiful in the UK, this is the very last of my stock and I will not be replacing them, so don't hang about if this is what you need for your classic Opel.

10/04/21 - Now sold

This is the special fascia from an Opel Manta A series SR fitted with the tachometer a.k.a. rev counter. It would be suitable for the following applications:
  • Opel Manta A series - '70-'75
  • Opel Ascona A series - '70-'75
The rev counter was only fitted to the higher specification models of the Opel Manta A series; viz. the Rallye / SR, Berlinetta, GT/e (left hand drive only) and ultra rare Broadspeed Turbo conversion. The rev counter unit was also available as a dealer installed aftermarket option as detailed in the original factory manual here.

For sale - Opel Manta A series rev counter fascia - £15

The lower specification models of the Opel Manta A series in the UK had no tachometer, instead an electro-mechanical clock was fitted. In order to adjust the time on the clock, the clear plastic fascia was equipped with a push in spigot to move the hands.
Many enthusiasts like to fit a rev counter in place of the clock, as a  tachometer is often seen as being more in keeping with the sporty image of the Opel Manta. Unfortunately if you don't replace the fascia at the same time time you will be left with the odd looking spigot poking out of the centre.

For sale - Opel Manta rev counter fascia, no spigot in the middle - £15

Although I have a number of spare instrument panels, all stock of rev counters have now sold out.  This fascia still remains, so it might be a useful part for someone, perhaps if they were building a custom instrument cluster.

It is priced at £15, the price includes delivery within the UK. I can send to some European locations too, but please ask for a quote first as this could be quite a high sum.
